The Lion King Te Manga And Te Tinana - First Draft

Te Manga and Te Tinana started watching the movie.

Mufasa and Sarabi had a cub. The cub was so adorable. The cubs name was Simba. Rafiki the baboon held the cub up high to show all the animals in the jungle there was a new cub that got born.
Mufasa said to simba that he will become king one day. So Simba went with his dad to learn how to hunt for meat to eat every day.
One day Simba went to Scar. Scar said to Simba that there is a place that has bubbling mud pools and gross bones. Simba thought that he could go there. One day Simba asked his dad if he could go to the water pole.

Lucy - Wonderful Sentences

I have been learning how to copy and paste from our class writing flip charts to share our learning. I know how to insert bullet points and use the highlighting tool.

We know that wonderful sentences need:
  • Detail (elaboration)
  • Capital letters and full stops
  • Punctuation (, ! ? “ “)
  • Quality vocab - WOW words
WALT recognise different parts of speech.
  • Nouns are naming words. Eg. chair, book, July, Awhi
  • Adjectives describe nouns. Eg. wooden chair, writing book, freezing July, lovely Awhi
  • Verbs are doing words. Eg run, walk, jump, skip, chew
  • Adverbs describe verbs. Eg. briskly running, slowly walking, jumping high, skipping happily
  • and chewing noisily.

EXAMPLES

The bird is angry.
The bird looks blueish and a bit black, it looks very evil too.

The cat is sad.
The midnight cat is shedding a tear as it waits for the witch to return.

Place Value Math Strategies - Screencastify

I found it tricky to get chrome extension.

Tuna Kuwharuharu (Longfin Eel)

This term we have been learning all about the Long Fin Eel.

Our assembly item was based on the story Velvet and Elvis. This was a story about the migration journey that the longfin eel takes.

Click here to view our te manga class blog Assembly post

I have created 3 different digital  learing objects (DLO) to share my learning on this topic.

The first is a poster that I created in my topic book about the challenges to the long fin eel.

We had been learning about the life cycle of the longfin eel. I created the life cycle using google draw.

I shared 5 interesting facts I know about the longfin eel on a google doc poster.

Waitangi Learning - Rarangi Matahiko

On May the 21st of 2019 it was the day Te Manga could go to Waitangi. Soon we arrived at Waitangi. when we arrived at Waitangi Whaea Monika and Whaea Kerry greeted us.

They told us to go up long stairs to get ready to learn. I saw some amazing paintings from Antarctica and the beautiful technology laid out. I felt really pumped and superb when I walked into the building.

Te Manga did some Unplugged Activities. Our Unplugged Activity was sorting out number cards from one to fifty. Me, Lara and Reina was my buddies for the Unplugged Activity.

After that a nice person came in called Caitlin. Caitlin came in with six very special rocks. The rocks are important, soft, spiky and some smooth even a bit rough.

We did Scratch and paint 3D to make some eels.My eel looked like a wobbly line line to me. I put my background on Scratch and me! Each of us made and decorated our own eel on Scratch and paint 3D.

At the end Te Manga played Tag, Hare-In-The-Whare, Chain Tag and had a little walk on a track. All of us saw some eels at the cafe and the ginormous stump made out of Kauri-gum tree. Before we hopped on the bus we did was all of us doing a scary pukana!
